and while watching i was chatting with a fellow ex band member about how cool marching band life really was. i mean how many people can actually tell people that they have done this kindda shit?? the ability to multitask was unparallel! and the adrenaline rush during performances was intense!!

honestly, if i could. i would do it all over again!! the experience of being in a marching band is exclusively awesome!!

After listening to a part of the Second Suite that my friend posted on fb, I suddenly thought of listening to Jazz Suite No.2.

I really like the light feeling that this song gives everytime i hear it or play it. This was one of the songs that we use to play. Most people probably know that i use to be a band member in the CHS Band. I really miss being able to play ensembles with a bunch of people who are as passionate towards music. A magical combination of melody and harmony created by every single instrument that creates a masterpiece that touches hearts. While the musicians put their hearts into the music, transcending emotions through the beautiful pieces. I miss the kind of feeling we get when performing as a band. It just feels -- full, complete. That's what music is about.

when we're at our time of need, we hope that people we care about are here for us. But when we're happy, do we think about how other friends might not be in the same condition?

it's always nice to know that someone cares. we all know that, but why do we always wait to be on the receiving side and seldom think about ways to be on the giving side? We often wait till something bad has happened to make us actually take a few seconds to ask our friends how they are doing. Sometimes we get the chance to just ask, but sometimes, it may juz be too late to ask. So why wait? It only takes a few minutes to just ask a friend how they are doing, what have they been up to, or even a plain wassup. You may not know it yet, but one day, one of these questions might just save a person's life.

melbourne weather is like a girl on pms. erratic. unpredictable. hot and cold.

it's currently suppose to be spring. When you look out the window, it looks just like spring. But once you walk out on the street, its definitely still winter. The winds are crazy strong. But the sun is glaring hot. It's literally four seasons in a day. it looks like spring, seems like summer, feels like winter, and err.. smells like autumn?? well technically thats true, since the flowers are staring to bloom again. *laugh sign comes on*

so i asked people on facebook and twitter what is the guy word for slut. The answers that returned were mostly manwhore and manslut. and one guy wrote his own name, but thats a whole other form of definition. But i was juz thinking, since a male version of a bimbo is a himbo, while a male nurse is a murse, and a male nanny is a manny. doesnt that make a male slut a mlut or hlut?? personally i think mlut sound better because it sounds closer to a mutt, which makes it more definitive. and it makes more sense too in terms of associations. since sluts are usually bitches, mluts can be mutts which are of the same species but differ in gender. geddit geddit?? bahaha.

Seriously.. can someone please get facebook outta my face!! must.. resist........ ohh look someone just commented on something.. -- story. of. my. life... since the evolution of facebook that is.

i'm practically befriending the enemy by replying to the people who actually commented on my status.. but the distractive powers of fb are too strong to resist!! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE!!

I don't know what exactly fb was originally designed for, but daymm it's convenient for stalking people -- not stalking as in the sit-outside-with-car-engine-on-peeking-through-curtains-feh-real kindda stalk, but the lets-see-what-that-person-has-been-up-to kindda stalk, BIG DIFFERENCE. just this afternoon, a bunch of friends were going through profiles of the hots and the kindda nots on -- you guessed it -- fb. yes, it may seem kindda lame and shallow. But hey, i'm sure most of the people in the facebook demographics don't only use facebook to "keep in touch" with friends. puhleeeasee.. does the following conversation sound familiar to you? "X: eh.. how is that person doing lately ar?? Z: wait ar.. let me check facebook n see" Its only normal to be kepoh, and to go around seeing hows everyone doing, who ditched and dumped who, who got into a relationship with who (always a conversation instigator), and where in the world everyone is currently located, etc. And facebook makes it so convenient because you don't even have to talk to the person or inflate them more with flattery to find out about what they've been up to. But of course, there is also the existence other slightly more utilitarian functions of fb like organizing events, reuniting long lost friends, and strengthening bonds by defying distances across the globe.

guess i'll always have an ambivalent value for fb. guess this is just one of those things that you can't live with and can't live without. food for thought. :)

i always found it funny how when you flip through primary school autobiographies written by your fellow classmates, you see them writing about their likings, contact details, and among those crucial details needed to keep in touch, lies a category called 'best frens/bff/bez fwens' or even 'frens'. it might be the immaturity speaking, or maybe it was the social norm at that time. I never thought it was practical writing that even when I was in primary school. It's not because i think i was much more mature than everyone else my age, but because i knew that friendships are like real ships, hard to build, but only takes an iceberg to sink.

Everyday life is like a filter for friendships. Because only the good ones will stay till the end. In life, we meet many people, some mere acquaintances, some buddies, some who understands us, some who we can call friends. There are some people who we can easily get along with, others will take some gettin use to. but nonetheless, we make friendships along the way.

There's a saying that "friends are the ones who will go the extra mile to tear down the wall that u've built to keep people out." I've always thought of friendship as a 2 way communicative system. yes, this may seem like some psychological terminology. but in simple terms, we give and we take.

Usually when I get closer to a friend, I would tend to stop and think whether they take me as close a friend as i take them? I guess I'm afraid to label them as my best friend when they might not consider me one. and my automatic and polite reaction would usually be to not impose, unless they say something too. But now thinking back, it seems like such an immature thing to do. friendships should be built based on sincerity. like everything else, it's not about how much you receive, but about how much you're willing to give.

Just because people treat you a certain way, doesn't necessary mean you have to treat them the same. You can always take the first step and go the extra mile. and be the bigger person.

friendship is not about exclusivity. But about sincerity.

i'm gonna be a very busy girl for the next 2 weeks.. *puts up buzy sign*

on the bright side -- literally -- spring is beginning!! :) time for sun tanning, beach strolling, camwhoring under bright sunshine, chillin on grassy lawns, jogging and sipping tea on outdoor seats of coffee shops. cant wait to be walking on sunshine again. love love love sunshine!! :)

have been watchin quite a fair bit of hongkie drama lately. and listening to tons of strokes!! but no worries. i'm still a total fan of taylor swift!! :) though her new song "mine" doesnt really seem like her, especially in the music vid. wonder if its her who wrote it? anyhoo, still love taylor swift. :)

okie. now back to reality. and waiting for spring to start. :)

people are often labeled as 'shallow' when they somehow notice or acknowledge the appearances of someone of the opposite sex upon initial glance. I know this because i've been on the labeling end of the conversation and also the labeled end. you know you do it too, so don't judge me you hypocrites!

But honestly, everyone at least once checked someone they think is attractive out before. Just that not everyone verbally announces it. Furthermore, there are specific features of the opposite sex that each person will distinctively pay more attention to at first glance. a friend of mine yk noticed this and conducted a small scale research to test his hypotheses. And he found out that guys usually :

takes a glimpse of the face of the opposite sex to judge if attractive.
notices certain specific features, which differs amongst male individuals, usually the eyes or hair. why? according to some guy friends, "the eyes are the window to the soul" baww.
if the female subject is defined as attractive, will be categorized into "hot, cute or pretty" categories.
Then looks at the body, or sometimes skip steps 1 to 3 because apparently this is quite a deciding factor for males. guess its true that guys think with their penis. go figure.

And if you're thinking "its normal, guys are shallow anyway", think again. Girls do this too. And results show that girls are actually more shallow than guys. Just that girls have a tendency of concealing these kindda apparently shallow opinions in public. There's however tiny attribute differences, girls usually :

makes a swift glance at the overall appearance of the opposite sex trying not to be noticed doing so.
notices specific features like hair, arms, chest or outfit depending on individual preference. Girls seem to notice the most unexpected features in a very extensively detailed manner.
Then the eye candy will be dragged and dropped into distinct categories of "hot, cute or handsome".

whaddayanoe, gender equality isn't a myth. yeah thats right, girls can do whatever guys can do. in fact, girls can do it better. true story. ;)

If after reading this you still go "i don't do that. I'm not shallow," Just go out there and search for a random stranger who you find attractive, then reflect on your thoughts about that person from the first moment u deemed them attractive. It's true and you know it.

However, the criteria that is accentuated in eye candies are not always directly correlated to what people expect out of their other half. That's a whole different topic. ;)

we're all a little shallow inside. and its alrite to be sometimes. we're only human.. :)

the one bout inception

went to watch inception today expecting to be mind eff-ed after the whole hype about it. yes, I almost wanted to bring a condom for my mind being prepared to be mind eff-ed. but its all lies. THEY IZ LIES!! *rage quit*

I was quite skeptical about the movie because it starred Leonardo Dicaprio who also starred in 'Shutter Island' which was rumored to have a similar plot. and I watched Shutter Island a few weeks ago and totally thought it was one of the shittiest movies anyone could have possibly made. It had a very interesting storyline to it, but the ending was as if the directors just decided "you know wat? lets just turn the entire story upside down in just a few minutes. why? Just cause we can." Some might argue that this is avant garde in some way, but i call it total mind eff-ing. Its like why don't you just go punch someone in the face for no reason, just cause its deviant? I literally went 'what the (fill in the beep)' along with the -_- look as the credits rolled out.

So I watched Inception today, paying full attention to every detail down to the placement of something as small as the teacup. I tried to decipher every single syllable spoken to make sure that I don't miss any clues that might be useful for interpreting the movie at the end. As some people i know actually watched it 3 times. i repeat, 3 times. But after watching it, i was like "huh? what? that's all?" I got the point during the first quarter of the film already.

In my opinion, Inception is mainly about Perception vs. Reality. According to what i've learnt in psychology, reality is something we perceive using out senses and stimulus. What we perceive as reality is basically what we believe is real through seeing, touching and smelling. It is as simple as the quote of "seeing is believing". But all these are just our human receptors at work. Therefore, something as simple as what we see as the colour red is just the outcome of the projection of colour and light onto our retina. I'm not going to get into the scientific details of sensation and perception. But if you want to know more about that you should join Dr. Simon Cropper's Mind Brain Behaviour 1 Lecture. :) (if your Dr. Simon Cropper and you somehow came across this blog. SIMON I THINK YOU ROCK!!) ok, anyway, So is what we see the ONLY reality? Or are we limited by our physical sensory and receptors?

In addition to that, Inception focuses on tapping into the subconscious mind through dreams based on the fact that humans only have access to a tiny portion of our brain, while the other parts lay deep in our unconscious mind. And dreams are one of the known ways in which humans have access to the subconscious part of the mind. Therefore, it is a perfectly reasonable choice to place the themes of perception and reality together with dreams and subconsciousness and ideas.

The implantation of ideas into the mind through dreams is the main focus of the movie as the title suggests. The origin of an idea is seldom just created in the mind from scratch. Ideas are usually built based on knowledge and experiences. Therefore, the movie Inception is based on very factual psychological questions.

I honestly think that Inception has a very well thought out storyline that aims to question our perception of reality. But the hype about it mind eff-ing audiences just degraded the profoundness of issues that were imposed in the movie, causing most audiences to undervalue the messages conveyed. Inception is a movie definitely worth watching. It really made me rethink my perception of reality once again. :)

there seems to be a lot of transgression throughout the music industry from the beginning of music till today. it started with Baroque where instrumental contrapuntal melody is enough to make your heart sing. Then there was the Classical and Romantic period where Beethoven, Mozart, Chopin and Schubert wrote beautiful pieces that can tingle your heart strings. Then came the artistic 20th century music which played around with dissonant creating abstract in songs.

Then came the emergence of MTV. and the definition of music has changed to include catchy rhyming (sometimes nonsensical) lyrics, hot singers and sexy vids. Then came the rise of *wait for it* BOYBANDS *breaks into dance while flipping hair dramatically by the beach* Yes, now looking back at the era of Backstreetboys, Boyzone, Westlife, N-Sync, 98 Degrees it was absolutely the tackiest idea anyone could have possibly come up with. When I think boybands, i picture a bunch of guys in their 20s standing by the beach wearing a white singlet and open shirt, winds blowing up their shirts, while they stare into the distant with a constipated look and pause. A bunch of guys in matching outfits, mushroom cut hairstyle, singing with overly dramatic constipated looks, singing songs with overly tacky lines. But it has no doubt captured the hearts of many. Heck, thats practically one of the biggest part of my primary school life. Alongside Britney with her "Opps i did it again" (which was so not oops btw) and Christina Aguilera with "Genie in a bottle". btw, I was a total hardcore Christina Aguilera fan.

There was also the Mariah Carey and Celine Dion era, where singing was still a REQUIRE SKILL for singers. Then theres the current Gaga and Ke$ha songs that dont even make sense. everyone has heard the songs, but have you actually heard the lyrics? juz watch kevjumba's illustration of their lyrics. The songs now are only meant to make you addicted to them through their overly charismatic beats n vowel like sounds that pass off as lyrics. i can feel my brain shrinking when listening to those songs. i know they are just trying to make a profit. But please just give us back the music!! What happened to the Bon Jovi era with kickass songs like Living On a Prayer? the kindda song that everyone would sing to when played at a club or even a mall.

Personally, I think that 90's music are still the ultimate best. When I think of songs, I think Backstreets Back Alright, N-sync's Pop, Christina Aguilera's Come On Over, M2M's Pretty Boy, Britney's Lucky. Thats what music is suppose to be, in between. :)

I was walking back to my place in the dark yesterday. And I noticed a guy walking in front towards the same direction looking back at me over and over again while trying to walk faster. After a while, the guy started running in fear towards his place, which was apparently a few door away from mine. He probably thought I was stalking him or something. BAHAHAHA.. LOSER!! like seriously, what did he think I was gonna do? I'm a girl in pink ballet flats okayy. did he think I was gonna tackle him? or throw my pink flats at him?

the one about blame it on the drama

i've been trying to complete the required readings for this week, but i notice myself staring blankly at the page right after the first paragraph.Countless attempts has been taken just to get myself past those first few repetitive scientifically factual (aka boring) paragraphs. i even considered sniffing caffeine up my nose to get myself to concentrate. But i finally decided to just chill for now and watch a few episodes of One Tree Hill. Before you wonder of all things why watch dramas, let me explain. THIS IS MELBOURNE AND ITS BORING. thats the main point, but if you don't understand why because your probably in the country where things cost 2.8 times less called Malaysia. its because there are no mamaks here where u can go n just chill at 8-3am, or malls where you can shop in till 10.30pm, or even hawker stalls where you can get extremely orgasmic-cheap-heartattack-causing food at ungawdly hours. I WANT HOKKIEN NOODLES NAO!!

Anyway, I was watching a few episodes of One Tree Hill and I became aware of myself relating the characters and scenarios to my own life. Too often I've heard people say "this kindda stuff only happens in movies" after watching dramas like One Tree Hill, Gossip Girl, 90210 or even Grey's Anatomy. Yes, its true that only in the movies are everyone filthy rich and living on the hills of LA or on fifth avenue or having hot sexy make out sessions with mcsteamy surgeons in an oncall room. But I find that there are always values that are incorporated into the shows that we can relate to or learn from.

There are definitely upsides and downsides to these dramas. Yes, their main purpose are undeniably for entertainment and profitability purposes. But that doesn't mean that the writers and directors of these shows have never thought about how much these shows could influence audiences, especially adolescent audiences who have the mind as easily swayed as a leaf on a windy winter day. But honestly, if these dramas aren't about characters living the lifestyles of the rich and famous, who would be interested in watching them??

The main concoction for these dramas are simple :

rich hot adolescent with tons of issues.
girls biting each others heads off for some guy with a sexy smile and six packs
guys beating each other up for some chick with a size 0 figure
characters getting together with one another as often as people swap partners on the dancefloor.
what more are there?? i'll never tell xoxo, cheesy lines.
tons n tons of onscreen sexy-time
and the gluing agent used to put all these parts together and making season loads of episodes are the extremely broad themes and storyline

Personally, I feel that One Tree Hill is the most real series -- though undoubtedly overly dramatic, not everyone has a psycho nanny who wants to kidnap their kids -- amongst other dramas of this genre. Because the characters are shown to be dealing with real life and real problems. And the best part is that they actually grow up and face relevant problems in life as their characters grow. unlike Gossip Girl which never seems to really grows out of gossips, parties and boys, when there are so much more to life. It depends on what you perceive out of all the overrated dramatizing.

I think that sometimes these dramas are designed to show you a way out if you're going through similar issues or show you why you should or shouldnt go down certain paths that aren't even worth trying like drugs. Sometimes it even reminds audiences of the importance of the people around us. Sometimes it puts our thoughts back into perspective when we feel lost, because we know that we're not the only ones, since that prob has even made it into the screens.

So these things don't only happen in movies. Movies are a reflection of people's lives, but in a more dramatized way. Because movies are written by people who has been through life like everyone else. Personally, I think dramas are like horoscope readings, not all of it may be relevant to you, but the ones that are gives you very broad and general advice on how you should deal with it or how things might turn out, but it still depends on whether you believe in serendipity.

first of all.. i think my new timetable rocks.. because i have Fridays off.

and coincidentally, last fri was free public transport day because of some system error previously due to the implementation of myki systems on trams. So being so cina n all. shen n i decided to travel a lil further out of the city for lunch and catch up session. We took a FREE tram to st kilda beach in the arvo. Walked around peeping through each cafe to see which one looks good n cheap. Had our catch up session from the tram ride till after lunch. Since we had soooooo much to catch up on. *wink wink* Then we headed to the piers by the beach for a chilling aft. :)

heyy everyone!! i know i've been MIA for quite some time.. been seriously bz since i came back to melb..

so what's up?? i've moved to a new place in royal parade.. nice n away from that hectic uni atmosphere.. so i've moved all my stuff over.. including my giant pink pony which everyone seems to be hovering over.. ITS MINE!! hehe.. here's how my room in melb looks like now..

what else?? my internship in nuffnang ended bout a week week before i came back to melb.. it was an awesome experience.. i miss those whacky nuffies alr!! T.T i'm still editing the vids that we took.. so stay tuned to see how working there was like for me.. :)

the one about my job so far

in case there r people who still haven't caught up with me.. i've been back in malaysia for bout a month alr.. coz its currently summer break in melb.. so here's an update of what i've been up to lately..

i'm currently an intern in Nuffnang.. its been awzum so far.. ps. i even got free ne-yo tix thx to this job.. HOW AWESOME IS THAT RIGHT?? basically i was given a chance by robb to go for the celcom twitter launch, n from there, i started tweeting using the celcom twitter sms service.. n i got the free tix.. i got conned in the process to buy a celcom prepaid no. for 20 bucks instead on 8.. but the ne-yo tix i won worth rm520 was totally added value to my job. haha.. this month has been really happening.. attended 3 events in the past couple of days.. was at the heineken greenroom event on fri night n samsung corby event on sat morning.. which meant i had minimal sleep.. but its all good.. somehow a lot of stuff seemed to hv happened to me on fri n sat.. partly thx to the nuffies n my boss tim.. haha..

i'm back in malaysia!!

i've been back for a week alr.. have been going everywhere eating awesome food like hokkien fried noodles.. fried bei ge.. o jian.. and have been meeting up with friends..

but its not all play.. i've also found an internship job at nuffnang.. in case u guys didn't alr know.. nuffnang is a blog advertisement company.. so basically i cant say anything bad bout it here.. since they might find my blog.. haha.. nah.. juz kidding.. its been kindda fun working there.. the experience is just intriguing..

been thinking about a lot of stuff lately.. rearranged my thoughts.. finally able to see things clearer.. the past is the past now.. i cant change what i've done.. or what i didn't do.. but rite now n the future is what matters.. i've learnt my lesson.. n i'll try never to make the same mistakes again..

but then again.. thats what life is about.. making mistakes.. n learning from them.. the most important thing is that we learn from our mistakes and we grow.. we learn to think before we act the next time.. to do things that we won't regret..

theres no point looking back.. other than as a reminder to never make the same mistakes again.. so its time to move forward.. because we can't change the past.. but we can make our own future..

from all that has happened.. i've learned to trust myself more.. to also at the same time be able to place trust on others when necessary.. that friends are always there for you if you just call.. that no matter what happens.. you gotta hold on to your values.. n just be yourself.. :)

even when all the doors seem to close on you.. God will leave a window open just for you.. tomorrow is a new day.. :) so never be afraid to take the step forward..

the one about the royal melbourne spring break

its currently spring break now for melbourne uni.. so this means.. more shopping.. traveling.. chilling.. outings.. :)

went to the royal melbourne show twice.. there were cool extreme rides.. petting zoos.. i got to pat a calf.. which is a baby COW.. :) :) :) on the second day there.. we went aft 5.. so the tix were cheaper.. we all wanted to win a big prize.. most of the guys won huge doggies from the basket ball game.. i wasnt able to win one till we were about to leave.. the guys were so sweet.. they kept teman-ing me to play the games.. n kept trying to win big prizes for me.. till finally.. i got to win a HUGE PONY from one of the games.. where we had to squirt water at the target in a race to get the bear to the top.. a great big thx to the ppl who tried helping me win the big prize.. :) the pony was only up for grabs at the last few rounds of the games.. n it was the one n only giant pony there.. we had to rush to catch the train.. coz it was the last train for the night.. then we went to hungry jacks (what they call burger king here in melb) for dinner.. had tons of fun at the royal melb show..

its been bout 2 and a half months since i've came to melbourne.. i've gotten settled in quite well alr.. n i've done my fair bit of traveling and shopping.. :)

so far i've been to tons of restaurants.. from malaysian nasi lemak and hokkien fried noddles to chinese dumplings to korean sun du bo jigae to italian pasta to freddos gelato.. *yumm* i've traveled quite a lot too.. been really touristy.. with the camera snapping at everything i eat n touch n see.. n jumping up n down with enthusiasm whenever i c something new or cool or funny or all 3.. n going all 'ooo' n 'ahhh' at everythin fascinating.. haha..

i've been goin to beaches.. coz we all noe how much i loooovvvvvveeeeee beaches.. hehe.. i went to south melb beach wif li shen.. charlene.. n jarrel.. we camwhored.. n found out that we should nv go to the beach during a windy day.. coz it hurts.. literally.. the sand hits n cuts ur legs.. so everytime the wind blows.. we'll go "ouch".. coz we were all wearin shorts on a windy winter day.. haha.. n we watched the sunset by the beach.. its really nice.. n emo-ish.. haha..

went to the melb aquarium wif des n nick bout 2 weeks ago.. we stared at the penguins for bout half an hr.. haha.. coz it was da first thing we saw.. n the penguins r so cute.. their fur looks really smooth n shinny.. penguins actually eat by swallowing the whole fish directly.. there were 2 types of penguins.. the gen 2 penguins n the king penguins.. basically one is male n one is female.. then we went over to see the fishes n stuff.. i saw a nemo fish n started goin all "omg.. look its nemo.. haha.. he lives in an anaeme-naeme-ne.." haha.. coz i kept rememberin the part bout how nemo kept tryin to say what was da place he lived in.. n when i saw dory.. i went "juz keep swimmin.. juz keep swimmin.. swimmin.. swimmin.." haha.. seeing how nerd i m.. i went reading most of the signs next to the tanks with the info bout the different species of underwater creatures.. des n i actually went all..

me : "did u noe that the japanese crab is the largest arthropods??"

des : " did u noe that arthropods means shell??"

me : "ooo.. fascinating.. "

haha.. we're such nerds la.. haha.. then we saw a tank wif lotsa dif fishes.. n we were like.. isn't dat da 'chong yu' fish we eat?? haha.. but apparently dat fish swims too fast.. we had to keep chasing it around the round aquarium to snap a pic of it.. n when we saw the sea turtle we were like "grab shell dude.." haha.. i watch too much nemo.. n when we saw the sharks.. we obviously said.. "fish r frens.. not food.." aft that whole very educational tour of the melb aquarium.. we went over to crown casino.. which was right across the street.. we juz played slot machines.. then went for dinner at a korean restaurant..

i had lotsa assignments to hand in this week.. so i barely went out.. but had some fun times over at shen's place.. haha.. a few of us went out for dinner at dessert hse near qv yesterday.. then aft dat we went to freddos for gelato.. coz i so needed something to make myself feel better aft those long nites of assignment-ing.. eating ice cream in the winter is really fun.. coz it nv really melts.. but ur hand gets really numb from holding the cup of ice cream.. hehe.. then we went over to jarrel n eu wing's place coz i wanted to c jarrel's huge lamp.. then at bout 11.. we went over to shen's place to watch so u think you can dance finals.. which was so cool.. n had a lil juice wif malibu.. haha.. we talk bout the most random stuff sometimes.. haha..

i've been on a cleaning frenzy since i handed in my assignments on thurs.. haha.. yesterday.. i vacuumed the apartment n wiped all the tables n stuff n the apartment.. i cleaned n rearranged my stuff on my table in the apartment too.. i'm such a neat freak.. haha.. then today.. i decided to clean the stove coz it looked kindda dirty.. then i started cleaning the kitchen area.. including the fridge.. haha.. then cleaned the toilet n the basin.. haha.. crazy i noe.. haha.. now the apartment is so clean.. :)

i've learnt to cook lotsa stuff since i came here too.. i can even cook steak n lamb chop.. :) i gtg do my laundry now.. check out facebook for pics..

heyy!! i've been in melbourne for bout 2 weeks alr.. everythin has been great so far.. so no worries.. :) i'm startin to get use to bein independent and doin everythin on my own..

i've been out a lot since i came.. did a lot of shopping too.. hehe.. i've been shopping like nobody's business lately.. the stuff here r juz so nice.. n it juz gets so tempting.. haha.. the weather here is really cold now coz its winter.. i've been freezing my butt off at nite.. but its coming to the end of winter alr.. so the cold gettin more bearable now..

i like the feeling of stepping out of the melbourne airport for the first time n feeling the tingling overwhelming cool air.. n to breathe while creating fuzzy vapour in the air.. it made me smile.. :) life in melb has been kindda boring for me.. basically its eating.. sleeping.. uni.. walk.. cleaning.. the routine is really simple.. guess thats the life of a uni student.. hehe.. i'm currently blogging while waiting for my clothes in the washing machine and the drier to b done..

i'm really gettin use to doing everything on my own now.. i din expect that i would be able to so quickly.. but i managed to.. so mommy and daddy.. plz stop worrying la.. i told u i can survive on my own.. hehe.. n sis n bro.. I TOLD U SO!! so u guys can stop laughing at me now.. hehe..

i've been cooking on my own too.. i've met up wif a few of my frens hu r also here.. we've been hanging out a lot too.. went around the city a few times.. usually for grocery shopping.. n sometimes for shopping..

went to promtay organized by my awesome couz yesterday at heritage mansion..

i decided to go dateless.. due to my prom jinx-ness theory.. hehe.. long story..

so i went in order to be a supportive couz.. n to hang out with my awesomely cool couzzies.. hehe..

my game plan for the nite was to keep a low profile.. in order to prevent anymore "incidents" that may as well prove my prom jinx theory yet again.. haha.. so i basically just sat.. camwhored.. drank.. n danced a lil..

i just helped daddy paint the grill..

daddy always spontaneously finds things to do.. haha..

just yesterday he was looking at the grill n saying that it was rusty..

n today he already started painting the grill.. hehe..

so i decided to help paint the grill since i had nothing to do other than being a couch potato n watching dvds.. which is what i've been doing really often lately.. hehe..

but i ended up painting most of it.. while he went on to watch the dvds halfway through.. hehe..

painting the grill was kindda fun..

feel like i've accomplished something big after i was done n looked at the grill that looks totally brand new.. *proud* hehe..

off to clean drops of paint off my hair n elbow now..

gonna go shopping with mommy later.. :)

no man or woman is an island.. we all need friends.. some closer.. some just acquaintances.. we all need someone we can rely one.. someone who will stand by our sides even when the whole world seems to be against us.. someone who will tell us "i told u so"s only when absolutely necessary.. i'm glad i have awesome friends who i can always count on to cheer me up..

anyway.. i've been going for gatherings lately.. the first gathering was a gathering for my primary school buddies.. we've not met for about 7 yrs alr.. n yet we still remember each other and our silly primary school memories.. they actually had this gathering just to meet up with me since i wasnt able to attend the other one.. so this was a gathering of a few of us who were slightly closer in primary school.. it was kindda last min.. so there was a lot of ffk-ing.. haha.. so it came down to only the 3 of us.. haha.. we still had a nice time reminiscing together..

the cape codder i ordered at laundry the curve.. its a mixture of cranberry and vodka..

our gathering started as dinner at the apartment and then drinks and chat at laundry the curve..

it was fun talking bout our silly primary school moments..

the chs band f5 07 had our bbq just a few days ago.. we started with our usual hectic planning.. with the distribution of work and capital by the trusty ex treasurer.. n the distribution led me to go shopping for doughnuts with gab n ko.. gab picked me up.. n we went to 1u together.. still thinking bout wat exactly we should get.. the plan was to get the doughnuts.. then gab suddenly had a brain blast.. haha.. he tot of getting 2 fake doughnuts n hidin them between the real ones.. n giving it to hc n ys.. (which ys fell for btw.. ) haha.. so we went to get the doughnuts then the fake doughnuts.. then we went window shopping from shop to shop.. guess that was partly my fault.. hehe.. then we had to get candles.. so we went to cold storage to search since cold storage seemed to hv everything.. apparently just not candles.. then we went to new york new yorks to grab a quick bite.. then rushed to the bbq.. the bbq was fun.. we did our usual silly stuff.. with a few additional funny moments here n there.. this time we even made our own lil commercial for sparkling juice.. haha.. i got a tiny splinter.. *sniff* we also tried guessing the title of the songs that we use to play as the song came up.. haha.. -- stars n stripes forever.. told u it was stripes.. haha.. -- n we had food of course..

the one about my Diploma Graduation

i'm officially a Merit Diploma Graduate!!

we had our taylors college icpu graduation today..

since i'm so free.. i'll be blogging bout every single little detail about the graduation.. hehe..

the graduate meeting was suppose to be held from 8 am in lecture theater 2.. but i was late.. *blush* -- in my defense.. i've not needed to wake up dat early for a whole sem -- so i got there.. peeked to c exactly how late i was.. then immediately rushed to get my gown.. i got da size 1 gown.. which is suppose to be small.. but really heavy.. then.. i rushed back to the lecture theater as planned.. n i discovered that all my rush was redundant.. coz everyone was either chattin or cam whorin.. haha.. n there i was thinking that i was gonna miss some really important briefing or wtv..

but not long aft i arrived.. the official briefing started.. the first task we were required to perform was to find our seats.. haha.. its harder den it sounds ok.. the lecturers even made it sound like some game.. which was totally hilarious.. there were stickers stuck on each chair.. the hard part was for the students with merits to find our seats.. coz our seats were not arranged according to the name list.. but according to our marks.. n its not like we knew wat marks everyone got.. so we had to search high n low.. i took bout 10 mins just to find my seat.. n just when i found my seat.. we had to get up to take a group photo.. gosh.. they should hv just told us to find our seats BEFORE we took the group pic rite.. after the group pic was the quick run through of the graduation ceremony.. they repeated the procedure so many times that i can still remember every step.. 1. walk up the stage.. 2. pass the card to the lecturer.. 3. walk proudly across the stage.. 4. shake hands.. 5. take the certificate.. 6. smile n pose for the camera man.. 7. walk off the stage.. 8. for the girls in heels.. try not to trip down the stage.. haha.. the lecturer repeated this one bout 3 times.. haha.. mr leslie even acted out the whole process with a very confident strut across the stage n an awesome pose for the camera.. haha.. then ms christie was up to show us the do's n dont's for our gowns.. it was so hard to keep the gown straight towards the front coz it was so heavy n long.. the gowns just kept sinking towards the back everytime we sat down.. so everytime we stood up.. we had to pull the gown forward n act as if we were meant to do it.. haha..

then began our cam whorin sessions again..

then we proceeded to the mph for our official graduation ceremony.. da v.i.p entered.. as usual.. the canadian lecturers din gv a s*** for the vip.. coz to them those ppl r not very important anyway.. coz it was our grad.. n we were suppose to be the v.i.p's for the day.. i'm so gonna miss that kindda cool point of views.. anyway.. we started with the singing of the malaysian n canadian national anthem.. then there were speeches.. i noticed something really cool that proves that we have been taught well by canadian lecturers.. at the begining of the icpu.. everyone din give a damn bout mobile phones ringing in class.. but at the grad.. whenever a mobile phone rang.. u can see how the icpu grad all turned n gave an annoyed stare towards the direction of the ring.. haha.. so typical canadian..

finally it was time for the handing out of the merit proficiency certificates.. that was our cue.. n i did a very embarrassing thing.. i forgot my card.. i had to walk back to my seat to get it.. luckily it was far from my turn.. hehe.. then it was my turn.. i passed the card to ms ungku.. she announced my name.. n that was my cue to walk confidently across the stage.. i shook the vip's hand.. accepted my certificate.. n smiled for the camera.. then said thank you.. and tried not to trip down the stage as told.. hehe.. n there by the stairs was mr soushkof.. i hv no idea how his name is spelt.. hehe.. he reached out his hands towards me while i was still on the stage n said "may i" to help me down the stairs.. *aww* i think was about to melt.. he was so sweet n gentleman-ish.. should have got to know him earlier.. though he din teach me.. hehe.. then i continued walking down the red carpeted isle.. n at the junction of the isle was mr colin.. who congratulated me.. i thanked him happilly n continued walking down the isle.. n there was mr ben who was directing people back towards their seats.. -- which triggered my memory of him yelling at the econs students to shut up aft our econs test coz mr moaz's attempts were useless.. he yelled "susshhh u peasants".. n everyone practically just shut up.. HAHA.. -- i went back to my seat with a huge smile on my face.. until i opened the file given to me on stage expecting my certificates.. but in the file was only a piece of paper with a note from mr jim the icpu programme director.. felt so ripped off.. haha..

since nick was back from the land of the kangaroos.. i've been hangin out wif nick and the guys a lot lately..

shall not mention our private outings.. but will share wat happened wif da guys.. hehe..

the one about spa and earth hour

i went for spa today at cityspa.. it was my 2nd time going for spa..

i had a scrub.. i smelt something that i'm quite positive is cucumber scrub.. den headed over to the jacuzzi.. i have this paranoid phobia about jacuzzis.. so i din dare to put my feet down to the bottom of the tub.. but since there was no one else there.. i sat in the tub while lettin my feet float above the other seats in the tub.. the ambiance was nice at the jacuzzi.. coz the lights were dimmed with many candles lit around the edges of the jacuzzi with tranquil music playin in the background.. it was just relaxing.. except for the occasional conciousness of the fact that i was in a jacuzzi.. one of my many paranoid phobias.. *blush* after the jacuzzi.. i had the thing i've been craving for.. a massage.. it was relaxing..

the whole spa process was like getting excercise without actually moving your own muscles.. hehe.. all in all it was good.. but i still liked the spa i had in bali.. with the nice lil balinese huts that fit 2 ppl.. the awesome ambiance.. the tub with the see through roof where u can admire the brightness of the moon.. and the soothing nature music.. with the occasional serenading of the birds and bugs.. the flowers in the tub.. i liked the entire experience i had at the spa in bali.. but dis spa was still nice.. at least i got to relax..

my family participated in earth hour by switchin OFF the lights and tv and electrical appliances.. earth hour doesnt mean juz switchin off the lights.. it means switchin off everythin that ur not usin to help save the earth.. after switchin off the lights n tv for bout 5 mins.. i started starin at my sis n said "omg.. no electricity like seriously nthn to do la.." n my sis with our usual sibling inside jokes started sayin "u noe the best thing we can do now?? play hide n seek.." haha.. but it wasnt fun playin without my bro coz my bro was usually the one with the lamest and most unexpected hidin places.. haha.. so we were back to havin nthn to do.. den my sis came up with the idea of watching stars.. but there werent any visible tonight.. so my family decided to go for a walk around the park.. we walked till bout 9.30.. n den went back.. its fun to see how much fun we can still have without electricity and how much more bonding time we have with our love ones without electronics..
